Before
Custom Fiori code, unvalidated for the upgrade

- Custom Fiori applications remediated and validated for the upgraded platform.
- Upgrade completed without disrupting existing functionality.
- Internal team supported throughout with a dedicated full-stack Fiori developer.
Why this matters
A clean example of targeted SAP Fiori expertise applied at the right moment: a sporting goods manufacturer needed specialized code remediation during an upgrade, and Mindset delivered the coverage to get it done without disruption.
The challenge
A global sporting goods manufacturer was upgrading its SAP Fiori environment and ran into a familiar problem: custom Fiori code that had been built and extended over time did not automatically survive the upgrade intact. Without careful remediation, the upgrade would break functionality the business relied on.
The company's internal team needed hands-on help from someone who understood both the Fiori upgrade mechanics and the custom code patterns that needed to be checked, fixed, and validated. Bringing in the wrong resource risked either slow progress or a clean upgrade that quietly broke things downstream.
What we did
Mindset placed a full-stack Fiori developer with the team to work through the custom code alongside internal staff. The developer's focus was on remediating the custom Fiori applications to ensure they would work correctly on the upgraded platform, then validating each fix before the upgrade moved forward.
The engagement ran under the company's existing purchase order for SAP Fiori upgrade support, covering the period from December 2021 through April 2022. The work was done as an extension of the internal team, not a separate workstream.
The outcomes
The custom Fiori applications were remediated and validated for the upgraded Fiori environment. The upgrade completed without breaking existing functionality the business depended on. No quantitative outcome metrics were captured for this engagement, which was a targeted support and remediation effort rather than a transformation project.
If we built this today
Concept · not delivered scopeCustom code that survives the upgrade.
This is a forward-looking concept, not the scope we delivered on this engagement. It is the build we would reach for now, grounded in SAP that ships today.
When this manufacturer upgraded its SAP Fiori environment, the custom code it had built over the years did not carry over clean and someone had to work through it by hand.
The data product
Cloud ERP Intelligence
It grounds the agent in the governed semantics of your S/4HANA landscape and release state through the SAP Knowledge Graph, so remediation suggestions match how your front end actually maps to back-end objects, not a generic catalog.
Intelligent Application on SAP Business Data Cloud
The Joule agent
Custom Code Migration Agent
It reads your custom SAPUI5 and Fiori extensions against the target S/4HANA release and flags every spot where a deprecated API, control, or extension point would break in the upgrade. It drafts the remediated code and a validation plan so a developer approves the fix instead of hunting for it.

The Fiori app
Custom Code Migration app, with Joule guidance
The S/4HANA custom-code analysis tooling reads your extensions and surfaces upgrade-breaking changes inline, with Joule explaining each finding in plain language. For the UI layer, the SAPUI5 version and deprecation tooling pairs with it to catch front-end issues.
Joule-assisted in the SAP development tooling, available now and broadening through 2026
We would mine the upgrade and extension touchpoints in SAP Signavio first, map the custom-code footprint in SAP LeanIX, and let MIND accelerators carry the old Fiori patterns over to the new ones.
