Where SAP AI gets designed.

Minneapolis . North Loop

Our Minneapolis HQ is an SAP AppHaus, the first one in the US run by a partner. It is the room where we design SAP AI with customers, Joule agents and AI apps and the workflows around them, prototyped on the SAP Business AI Platform before anyone commits to a build.

What you will see

  • A working studio. Walls you write on, prototypes from the last engagement still up.
  • The R&D lab where the BTP and Joule work happens.
  • One long table the whole team shares. Lunch usually shows up around noon.

AppHaus

It is a way of working, not just a room.

SAP AppHaus is SAP's method for human-centered innovation. It pairs Design Thinking with Architecture Thinking, so a solution has to be desirable to a real person, technically feasible, and worth the money before anyone ships it.

These days that method points straight at SAP Business AI. The room is where we design Joule agents and AI apps with the people who will actually use them, work out where a human stays in the loop, and prototype on the SAP Business AI Platform before a line of production code gets written. It is the same approach SAP now teaches as its Joule Agent and AI Agent design workshops.

The network is small on purpose, around twenty firms worldwide hold the partner designation. Mindset became the first US-based partner in 2018 and runs it out of the building you are looking at.

How it works

Five phases. The room is set up for all of them.

SAP teaches the AppHaus method in five phases. Most firms run the first three and stop. We run all five because the last two are where adoption actually happens.

  1. Phase 1

    Explore

    Frame the question

Talk to the people doing the work today. Map the friction before drawing a solution.

  2. Phase 2

    Discover

    Build conviction

Synthesise what we heard into the few problems worth solving. Pick the bets.

  3. Phase 3

    Design

    Make it real

Sketch, prototype, test with users. Throw away anything that fails contact with a real human.

  4. Phase 4

    Deliver

    Ship it

Engineering, configuration, integration. On the SAP Business AI Platform if the architecture fits.

Phase 5

Run & Scale

Make it stick

Adoption, telemetry, the next iteration. Software that nobody uses is not a solution.

What we use it for

Three jobs, one building.

  • Customer workshops

    Designing AI with customers

A working room, a wall of sticky notes, and the people who will actually use the thing. Lately that means Joule agents and AI apps. The first meeting is a session, not a pitch.

  • R&D lab

Where we build on the SAP Business AI Platform

Joule agents in Joule Studio, BDC pipelines, BTP as the foundation. We test the platform on our own work before we recommend it to yours.

  • Cultural HQ

    How the firm gathers

Team meals, internal demos, partnership visits, board meetings. The reason an office matters at all.

Build Work Zone

Mindset and CHS unified a fragmented application landscape behind a single launchpad, brought identity governance to the SAP Cloud landscape, and put AI to work, leaving CHS, in its own words on a public stage, much better prepared for the future.

Global Medical Device Manufacturer

Mindset ran a Design Thinking engagement with the device maker's service and call-center teams, rebuilt service order processing on SAP Fiori, and cut a multi-screen maze down to a single screen. Adoption climbed sharply across the field service team, then in 2025 the work evolved again with a joint SAP x Mindset Agentic AI Design Workshop.

CDS

A Leading Lighting Controls Manufacturer

Mindset replaced a standalone warehouse reporting tool with a purpose-built SAP Fiori app, inventoried the company's full Fiori estate, and ran AI and BTP design-thinking workshops to map out the next phase of their SAP platform journey.

SAP BTP

Mindset replaced Merit Energy's legacy Java-based vendor system with a BTP-native Vendor Management Portal that cut approval clicks by 60%, saved each user 57 hours a year, and went from design to full employee rollout.
