SAP Fiori / BTP / AI Enablement
How Mindset brought warehouse visibility, Fiori optimization, and AI enablement to a lighting controls manufacturer
A Leading Lighting Controls Manufacturer Delivered 2025-2026
Mindset replaced a standalone warehouse reporting tool with a purpose-built SAP Fiori app, inventoried the company's full Fiori estate, and ran AI and BTP design-thinking workshops to map out the next phase of their SAP platform journey.

Before
Warehouse data outside SAP, no Fiori estate picture
- Warehouse task visibility living in a standalone Power BI report, separate from the SAP environment.
- No documented inventory of the full Fiori app estate, making governance and extension harder than it needed to be.
- Internal analysts and developers dependent on outside help for every Fiori change.
After
Operational data in SAP, a trained team, and a platform roadmap
- A purpose-built Fiori warehouse-task app with filtering and extensibility for analyst-led customization.
- A full Fiori estate inventory and a KPI-driven landing page built, tested, and handed over.
- A concrete AI and BTP roadmap from Design Thinking workshops, with internal developers trained to work independently.
Built on
- SAP Fiori / UI5
- CDS / ABAP
- SAP BTP
- Mindset Fiori App Analyzer
- Double Diamond design-thinking framework
Why this matters
A manufacturer with SAP rolling out to new facilities had operational data living outside the system. Mindset brought it in, mapped the whole Fiori estate, and built the internal capability and platform roadmap for what comes next.
The challenge
This Pennsylvania-based manufacturer was rolling SAP out to more facilities and running into a common problem: key operational data lived outside SAP. Warehouse task visibility depended on a separate Power BI report rather than being surfaced directly in the SAP environment where people actually worked.
At the same time, the team did not have a clear picture of its full Fiori app estate. Managing and extending Fiori was harder than it needed to be because no one had a complete inventory of what was deployed. And looking ahead, the company wanted to build internal capability so analysts could extend Fiori content themselves, rather than raising a ticket every time something needed to change.
What we did
Mindset ran a 5-week Fiori Optimization pilot first, building a warehouse-task visibility app in Fiori that replaced the standalone Power BI report. The app displays confirmed warehouse tasks in a defined time series, with filtering by Warehouse Process Type and Source Storage Type. It was built for extensibility so the company's own analysts could create derivative views with minimal help.
That pilot expanded into a 6-month Advisory Services engagement. Mindset installed its proprietary Fiori App Analyzer to inventory and assess the company's full embedded Fiori Launchpad, then planned and built a custom KPI-driven Fiori landing page with design, development, testing, hypercare, and developer training. Front-end Fiori, back-end CDS and ABAP, and BTP development support ran in parallel throughout.
Two onsite Design Thinking workshops covered Joule and Agentic AI adoption and the SAP Business Data Cloud platform, giving the internal team a practical roadmap for where the platform goes next. A change-order extension in early 2026 added resources to keep the momentum going.
The outcomes
The company got a working Fiori warehouse-task app that surfaces operational data inside SAP where people work, replacing a report that sat outside the system. The Fiori App Analyzer gave leadership a clear inventory of the existing Fiori estate, which had never been formally documented.
The engagement was built around enabling the internal team. Analysts and developers left with the skills to build and extend Fiori content independently. The Design Thinking workshops gave the organization a concrete picture of how Joule, Agentic AI, and SAP Business Data Cloud fit into their roadmap.
If we built this today
Concept · not delivered scopeWarehouse visibility, finally inside SAP.
This is a forward-looking concept, not the scope we delivered on this engagement. It is the build we would reach for now, grounded in SAP that ships today.
Warehouse-task visibility lived in a separate Power BI report while SAP rolled out to more facilities, so here is how that view comes home to SAP and learns to answer questions.
The Joule agent
EWM Warehouse Order Agent
Reads confirmed warehouse tasks and orders straight from S/4HANA EWM, then proposes the next-best task views and flags backlogs by warehouse process type and storage area before they slow a facility down. It surfaces the same operational picture that used to live in a side report, but grounded in live SAP data.
SAP S/4HANA EWM, SAP ABAP, CDS, SAP BTP · PROPOSE · Warehouse task confirmation lead time and open-task backlog
The Fiori app
Warehouse task and order monitoring apps (Joule-embedded)
The standard S/4HANA EWM warehouse monitoring and task apps now answer plain questions through Joule, so an analyst can ask for confirmed tasks in a time window filtered by process type without leaving SAP. It is the in-SAP home the Power BI report never was.
Embedded in the Fiori launchpad
The data product
Cloud ERP Intelligence
Grounds the agent in governed warehouse and logistics data on SAP Business Data Cloud, so task and inventory metrics carry one trusted definition across every facility being onboarded. The agent reads meaning, not just rows.
Intelligent Application on SAP Business Data Cloud
We would mine the real warehouse process in SAP Signavio first, map the Fiori and BTP estate in SAP LeanIX, and let MIND accelerators like our Fiori App Analyzer carry the working app from old to new.
