ASUG Forward and SAP Sapphire Re imagined

How’s everyone doing out there?  We’re almost halfway through the year and to say 2020 has been unprecedented is an understatement.

Despite the very real and serious challenges we face, there have been bright spots for us at Mindset.  Luke VanEpern wrote about some of these in his blog post a few weeks ago (Link to Luke’s Blog) and they still hold true today.  We are proud of what we are doing to help our customers navigate through the pandemic. Our team has shown incredible resilience (not to mention passion and grit) finding incredible new ways to engage with our customers.

Mindset is not alone in adjusting to the current situation.  Most companies and organizations are having to innovate to carry out their “normal” business activities, including SAP and ASUG (Americas’ SAP Users Group).  I am excited about a couple of upcoming events that reflect adjustments recently made by SAP and ASUG: SAP SAPPHIRE NOW Reimagined and ASUG Forward.

SAP and ASUG (America’s SAP Users Group) usually hold their largest annual conferences together in May or June.  SAPPHIRE NOW + ASUG is the event to attend to obtain information about SAP’s direction and strategy, receive the latest and greatest updates and demonstrations of SAP products and hear directly from small, midsize, and large enterprises about how they are using SAP solutions to transform their business models and become intelligent enterprises.  It’s also an excellent opportunity for SAP customers to network with their peers from other companies.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SAP and ASUG have canceled their in-person SAPPHIRE and ASUG conferences for 2020 and have pivoted to virtual events instead.  The really great part of this is that SAP has waived conference fees and is making all SAPPHIRE NOW Reimagined content available to those who register at no cost.   ASUG Forward is also a free event for ASUG members.  (There is a small fee for non-members.)  Whether you regularly attend these conferences or have not previously had an opportunity to do so, I highly encourage you to participate in one or both of these virtual events.

SAP SAPPHIRE NOW Reimagined (June15-June 19)

SAPPHIRE NOW Reimagined offers direct access to SAP’s extended community via digital broadcasts and curated content.  It includes the following components:

SAPPHIRE NOW Unplugged

A weekly, free-access video series showcasing conversations with leaders, thinkers, influencers, and experts who share insights on how to navigate and manage through the COVID-19 pandemic. Each video is 15–20 minutes in length.  A few of these are available now.

SAPPHIRE NOW Vision

On June 15, SAP CEO Christian Klein will share his vision on SAP innovation, partnerships, and customer success stories. This is a “must-see” for SAP customers and will be followed by an interview and musical performance by Sting.  (A concert is part of the SAPPHIRE tradition.)

SAPPHIRE NOW Converge

June 15 also kicks off SAPPHIRE NOW Converge, an online destination for live and on-demand content from SAP.  SAPPHIRE NOW Converge is a new way to get the latest insights and information from SAP through scheduled and available content throughout the year.  However, with Converge, you can connect with SAP executives, product experts, industry and line-of-business experts, partners, thought leaders, and customers.

ASUG Forward. (June 22 @ 8:00 a.m.-June 26 @ 5:00 p.m.)

Designed by and for SAP Customers, ASUG Forward includes a week of educational content to help companies navigate the new reality. ASUG Forward consists of presentations from industry thought leaders, customer stories, demos, and panel discussions.  The conference is focused on 5 tracks. This includes Supply Chain and Manufacturing, Sales and E-Commerce, IT Operations, Employee Experience, and Human Resources and Finance Procurement.  Separating the conference into these tracks is designed to help ASUG members focus on the business areas and sessions that are most important to them.

Mindset is sponsoring the Supply Chain and Manufacturing track of ASUG Forward but we can advise and provide guidance in any of the other track areas too.

We expect to continue to experience disruption for a while. Some are calling it the “new normal”.   While this may be the case, we at Mindset are optimists and change agents. We recognize the importance that disruptions can play in helping organizations and people become more adaptable and agile, ultimately leading to a better endpoint.  Further, we are confident we’ll get through these unprecedented times and become better and stronger.  We continue to look for the positive. We will embrace and, in some cases, run toward the change brought on by the challenges and disruption we are experiencing now.

Here’s wishing you all the best–and hope you can join me at SAP SAPPHIRE NOW Reimagined and ASUG Forward.

Note:

Mindset is an official sponsor for SAPPHIRE NOW and ASUG Forward.  Therefore, we invite you to check out our virtual booth and video presentation during the event.  For directions to our virtual booth, or questions about either conference or scheduling, reach out to your Mindset representative.  However, if you’re unsure who this is, contact me directly. I’ll connect you to the right person.  Further, we’ll ensure you get the support you need to make it a great event.
