S/4HANA capital sales blueprint, build, and mobile delivery for a medical equipment management company
A National Medical Equipment Management Company Delivered 2026
Mindset blueprinted and built a newly acquired capital sales division onto S/4HANA, then mobilized field delivery staff with a BTP-based serial-scan and signature-capture app built on SAP's Mobile Development Kit.

Why this matters
A medical equipment company that acquired a capital sales business and needed to bring it onto SAP, while also getting field delivery staff out of paper and into mobile. Two parallel workstreams, one sustained partnership.
The challenge
After acquiring a specialty capital equipment business, the company needed to bring that division's sales process onto its existing SAP S/4HANA instance. The capital sales workflow was not yet in S/4HANA: there was no order-to-cash process designed for capital equipment, and the fit between the acquired business and standard SAP functionality had not been mapped. At the same time, the field delivery team was handling equipment shipping and signature capture without a mobile solution, and SAP had recommended building that capability on BTP.
What we did
Mindset ran a Capital Sales Implementation Blueprint to start: project kickoff, fit-to-standard workshops to match business requirements against standard S/4HANA functionality, and Business Process Design workshops to close the gaps. Those blueprint deliverables set the company up to move into build quickly without re-litigating requirements. The build itself followed, with Mindset keeping order-to-cash resources embedded across a series of project extensions that carried the implementation forward over multiple phases.
In parallel, Mindset built a Mobile Development Kit application on SAP BTP for the field delivery workflow. The app let delivery staff scan a serial number and capture a customer signature directly in SAP during the equipment handoff. The MDK team was a blended US and India delivery group, working through multiple change orders as the scope of the mobile work expanded.
The outcomes
The capital sales process for the acquired division was designed, blueprinted, and built on S/4HANA across a multi-year engagement that spanned the initial blueprint, the core build, and seven-plus extensions. The field delivery team gained a mobile application that connected the physical equipment handoff directly to the SAP system, replacing a manual process with a serial-number scan and digital signature capture at the point of delivery. The engagement ran from the initial blueprint in 2024 through ongoing advisory and support into 2026.
If we built this today
Concept · not delivered scopeCapital orders that clear themselves.
This is a forward-looking concept, not the scope we delivered on this engagement. It is the build we would reach for now, grounded in SAP that ships today.
When a newly acquired capital sales process lands on S/4HANA and then has to mobilize delivery in the field, the same order-to-cash backbone is where a Joule agent would watch for blocks and missing serial or signature data today.
The Joule agent
Delivery Block Resolution Agent
Reads each capital sales order against credit, availability, and config rules, then proposes how to clear delivery blocks before they stall fulfillment. For the field-delivery side it can flag serial and signature gaps from the delivery record so nothing ships incomplete.
SAP S/4HANA Sales, SAP BTP, SAP Fiori, SAP Mobile Development Kit (MDK) · PROPOSE · Order-to-delivery cycle time and blocked-order rate
The Fiori app
Sales Order Fulfillment
The standard fulfillment-monitoring app with Joule embedded, where a rep can see every blocked capital order and ask Joule why a delivery is held and what to do next. It works on the same S/4HANA orders the blueprint stood up.
Embedded in the Fiori launchpad
The data product
Customer Intelligence
Grounds the agent in order, delivery, and account history so its proposals reflect real fulfillment patterns rather than a single stuck order. It pulls from S/4HANA without copying the data out.
Intelligent Application on SAP Business Data Cloud
We would still mine the real order-to-cash flow in SAP Signavio first, map the S/4HANA and BTP footprint in SAP LeanIX, and let MIND accelerators carry the blueprint and the mobile delivery logic from old to new.
