Before

UX leadership as a gap in the program

  • SAP digital advisory program running without a dedicated UX track lead.
  • No single person responsible for UX direction across the advisory cycle.
  • Recommendations at risk of stalling before reaching the business.

After

Embedded UX track ownership

  • Mindset UX Track Lead embedded inside the program, owning direction through final recommendation.
  • POV review cycle completed with senior digital leadership and delivered to the business.
  • Continuous coverage maintained through a mid-term consultant transition.

Why this matters

Embedded advisory at a well-resourced Fortune 50 company that knew exactly what it needed: senior SAP UX ownership inside the tent, not outside advising in. The work was about sustained presence and carrying the UX point of view all the way to the business.

The challenge

The company's SAP organization was running a digital advisory program and needed someone in the room who could own the UX track. Not a consultant brought in to review a single deliverable, but a track lead who could set direction, meet regularly with senior leadership, and carry recommendations all the way to the business.

The challenge was as much about continuity as capability. The company needed embedded expertise that could navigate their internal SAP structure and build working relationships with the leaders who would ultimately act on those recommendations.

What we did

Mindset placed an experienced UX Track Lead consultant inside the company's SAP UX Digital Advisory Services program. The role covered the full advisory loop: establishing the UX point of view, running reviews with the company's senior digital leadership, and preparing the final recommendations for presentation to the business.

Work ran on a time-and-materials basis under a Master Professional Services Agreement, starting in 2018 and extending into 2019. When the original track-lead consultant transitioned off the engagement, Mindset continued the role without interruption, bringing in a replacement with deep Fiori and design-thinking experience to maintain momentum through the remaining program hours.

The outcomes

The team completed the full POV review cycle with the company's SAP digital leadership. The finished recommendations went to the business in the fall of 2019, presented by the company's own senior director.

Mindset sustained an embedded UX leadership presence across the life of the program. The consultant handoff mid-engagement kept the work moving with no reset period, and the company carried the recommendations forward under its own leadership.

If we built this today

Concept · not delivered scope

A UX track lead that never leaves the room.

This is a forward-looking concept, not the scope we delivered on this engagement. It is the build we would reach for now, grounded in SAP that ships today.

This brand needed senior UX leadership embedded in its SAP advisory program to set direction and turn points of view into recommendations the business could act on, and a 2026 build keeps that voice present in every Fiori decision.

The data product

Cloud ERP Intelligence

A governed BDC data product that joins Fiori usage, role assignments, and process context so the advisor reasons over real behavior instead of anecdotes. SAP Knowledge Graph gives it the business meaning behind each app and role.

The Joule agent

Fiori Experience Advisor

It reads Fiori launchpad telemetry, role-based catalog usage, and accessibility and design-system signals across the S/4HANA estate, then proposes where the UX point of view should change, which apps need rework, and how to standardize patterns. It frames each recommendation so a leader can take it to the business, not only the design team.

The Fiori app

Joule in the Fiori launchpad (UX governance is a category, not a named app)

There is no single OOTB Business AI Fiori app that owns UX advisory, so the honest answer is Joule itself, embedded in the launchpad, plus SAP Build Work Zone for role-based experience design. Joule surfaces usage and friction in context and helps frame a point of view.

Embedded in the Fiori launchpad

We would mine how people actually move through the apps in SAP Signavio first, map the experience and role landscape in SAP LeanIX, and use MIND accelerators to carry the design patterns from the old launchpad to the new one.

What we built

  • Sustained across the full program term, including a mid-term consultant transition

    UX track leadership, embedded

A named UX Track Lead placed inside the company's SAP UX Digital Advisory Services program, owning direction, reviews, and recommendations rather than advising from the outside.

  • Full cycle completed through to leadership sign-off

    POV review cycle

A structured cycle for developing and pressure-testing UX points of view with the company's senior SAP digital leadership before taking them to the business.

  • Presented to the business on schedule

    Business recommendations package

A set of UX recommendations prepared by the Mindset track lead and delivered by the company's own senior director to the broader business in fall 2019.

  • Zero program disruption at consultant handoff

    Seamless consultant transition

When the original track-lead consultant stepped off the engagement, Mindset replaced the role without a break in coverage or a re-ramp period.
