Purchase Requisition (PR) approval was a cumbersome process for the client. Approval and analysis was invariably time-intensive. On average the legacy system would take 3-9 days to process PRs. The client engaged Mindset to design a simplified and user-friendly process which would reduce the PR processing time to 1 day or less. The team leveraged Design Thinking to collaborate with procurement process owners and subject matter experts to create user persona and their journeys for deeper insights into the PR approval process. Next, they developed a low-resolution prototype to gather feedback from end-users. Once all the feedback had been gathered, the team went on to deploy the prototype to production. The new system not only reduced the PR processing time significantly, it also reduced the need for human intervention considerably.
