As a SAP AppHaus Design Lead / UX Strategist at Mindset, you will facilitate human-centered innovation engagements, lead design thinking workshops, and translate user research insights into compelling SAP BTP solution concepts. You will play a pivotal role in Mindset’s AppHaus practice—guiding clients through discovery, ideation, prototyping, and experience strategy activities that shape modern SAP applications and transformation programs.
This role is ideal for a creative strategist who thrives in front of customers, excels at structured facilitation, and understands how to bridge design outcomes into scalable SAP BTP delivery. You will collaborate closely with product owners, architects, developers, and Mindset’s AppHaus team to bring user-centered solutions to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Thinking Facilitation: Lead design thinking workshops, discovery sessions, problem-framing activities, empathy research, and innovation sprints.
- AppHaus Engagements: Own and deliver end-to-end AppHaus engagements following SAP’s Human-Centered Approach to Innovation (HCAI), ensuring high-quality experiences for clients.
- User Research & Insights: Conduct interviews, contextual inquiry, and user observation to uncover pain points, opportunities, and user goals.
- Experience Strategy: Translate research findings into personas, journey maps, service blueprints, concept sketches, storyboards, and experience roadmaps.
- Solution Concepting: Partner with BTP Build, CAP, UX, and AI teams to turn design concepts into feasible SAP solutions and prototypes.
- Prototyping: Create low- to mid-fidelity prototypes using tools such as Figma, Build Apps, or rapid prototyping methods to validate ideas with users and stakeholders.
- Client Engagement: Facilitate executive-level sessions, present narrative-driven insights, and align business and IT stakeholders around a shared vision.
- Collaboration with Delivery: Ensure smooth transition from design outputs to technical build, supporting handoff documentation and development readiness.
- Practice Growth: Contribute to playbooks, reusable assets, templates, and Mindset’s library of design-led innovation methods.
- Thought Leadership: Represent Mindset at SAP AppHaus events, conferences, webinars, and community forums.
- Travel: Ability to travel as needed up to 20–25%.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5–8+ years in UX design, design strategy, design thinking, or innovation roles; experience in enterprise or SAP environments strongly preferred.
- Design Thinking Expertise:
- Hands-on experience leading structured design thinking workshops
- Strong command of user-centered design methods and tools
- Hands-on experience leading structured design thinking workshops
- User Research Skills: Ability to plan, conduct, and synthesize user research (interviews, observation, usability testing, contextual inquiry).
- SAP & BTP Understanding: Familiarity with SAP BTP capabilities, Fiori design guidelines, and experience turning UX concepts into SAP platform-ready solutions.
- Prototyping Ability: Comfortable creating prototypes—from sketches to digital wireframes—to communicate and test ideas.
- Consulting Competencies: Exceptional facilitation, storytelling, and executive communication skills.
- Collaboration: Proven experience working with cross-functional teams including developers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders.
Nice to Have Qualifications
- Experience working within an SAP AppHaus or similar innovation lab/studio.
- Familiarity with Figma, SAP Build Apps, or SAP Build Work Zone.
- Experience with generative AI–enhanced UX research or ideation workflows.
- SAP or design thinking certifications.
