Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SAP Integration Developer to lead the technical migration of SAP Process Orchestration (PO) interfaces to SAP BTP Integration Suite for our consulting clients.
This is a hands-on development role focused on building, mapping, and configuring integration solutions within the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). The ideal candidate brings deep technical proficiency in SAP PI/PO and Cloud Integration (CPI), with a proven track record of building robust iFlows, managing APIs, and implementing event-driven patterns. You will turn architectural blueprints into functional, high-performance integration solutions — and have a direct impact on how our clients modernize their SAP landscapes.
As a member of Mindset’s Integration Center of Excellence (CoE), you will work closely with a mixed US/India team of specialists to deliver migration projects, develop reusable patterns, and help build Mindset’s integration delivery competency into a mature, scalable practice area.
Key Responsibilities
Interface Migration & Development
- Translate architectural designs into technical specifications and functional iFlows within SAP Integration Suite.
- Lead hands-on migration of legacy PI/PO objects (Message Mappings, Operations, Scenarios) to modern BTP artifacts.
- Develop complex transformation logic using Groovy Scripts, XSLT, and graphical mapping.
Connectivity & Protocol Management
- Configure and troubleshoot diverse adapters including IDoc, SOAP, REST (OData/JSON), SFTP, JDBC, and AS2.
- Implement secure connectivity between on-premise systems and the cloud using SAP Cloud Connector.
- Manage certificate lifecycle, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, SAML, certificate-based), and technical handshake requirements.
API & Event-Driven Implementation
- Build and expose APIs using SAP API Management, applying policies for security, throttling, and caching.
- Implement asynchronous messaging patterns using SAP Event Mesh / Advanced Event Mesh.
- Develop reusable integration patterns and custom functions to accelerate future project delivery.
Testing, Error Handling & Support
- Design and implement error-handling frameworks using SAP AIF or custom BTP logging approaches.
- Conduct rigorous unit testing and support SIT and UAT phases.
- Perform root-cause analysis for complex payload errors, connectivity timeouts, and performance issues.
- Provide post-go-live hypercare support and knowledge transfer to client teams as needed.
Documentation, Standards & CoE Contribution
- Maintain detailed technical documentation for every interface, including mapping logic, configuration parameters, and decision rationale.
- Adhere to and help define development best practices, naming conventions, and transport management (CTS+/TMS) processes.
- Collaborate with the broader Integration CoE (US and India) to develop shared patterns, accelerators, and delivery methodologies that strengthen Mindset’s integration practice.
- Contribute to internal knowledge bases and reusable templates that raise the bar for future engagements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 7+ years of hands-on SAP Integration development (PI/PO), with at least 2 years on SAP BTP Integration Suite.
- Integration Suite Proficiency: Deep working knowledge of Cloud Integration, API Management, and Open Connectors.
- Scripting: Strong command of Groovy Scripting and Java for custom integration logic.
- Data Formats: Expert-level understanding of XML, JSON, EDI, and Flat File structures.
- Security: Solid grasp of transport-level and message-level security (SSL/TLS, PGP, Digital Signatures).
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to debug complex integration scenarios across hybrid landscapes (Cloud-to-Cloud, Cloud-to-On-Premise).
- Communication: Strong technical communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with functional consultants, architects, and client stakeholders. Professional English proficiency required.
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP Certified Development Associate – SAP Integration Suite.
- Experience with DevOps practices for integration (CI/CD pipelines, automated testing).
- Exposure to non-SAP middleware (e.g., Boomi, MuleSoft) for comparison or migration contexts.
- Experience with SAP Integration Suite Trading Partner Management (TPM), including partner profile configuration, B2B agreement setup, and EDI/AS2 interchange processing.
- Experience working in a consulting or client-facing delivery model.
- Interest in mentoring junior developers and contributing to the growth of a collaborative, cross-geography team.
